Build Contents

Magsorc has benefited tremendously from the limited amount of sets, as it was running most of those (and thus focusing on stat builds) before this patch already. The following build will give you the maximum amount of stats achievable for it, divided well between max resources, regeneration and damage.

Setup

Race

The best races for this build are High Elf (Altmer) and Breton. The first will slot an additional magicka regeneration glyph on the jewelry, the second a spell damage glyph. This brings out the overall stats very similar in the end.

Dark Elf serves as a secondary option.

Skills

Note: For the full explanation on the offensive and defensive rotations with this skill setup, make sure to check the my basic guide. It’s from the Greymoor patch but the mechanics explained here are still the exact same this patch.

Monster Sets

With the no-procs ruleset being implemented in Cyrodiil, we can’t use 2 pieces of the same monster set and get the 2-piece bonus. We can, however, use two different one-pieces of two different monster sets, Swarm Mother and Domihaus, to get a lot of Max Magicka and Max Stamina from the 1-piece bonus of both, combined.

Main Set

Crafty Alfiq – Magicka Sorcerer relies on a high amount of maximum Magicka, mostly for it’s shield size, which is why this is one of the staple sets for any Magsorc build.

Minor Sets

Grace of the Ancients – This 3-pieces set grants us a lot of additional Max Magicka, which helps push our main stat pool close towards 50k. This set works brilliantly in combination with Crafty Alfiq towards our goal of maximizing or Magicka pool.

P.S. Magicka goes BRRRRR.

Armor of the Trainee – This will again boost the maximum magicka, however the extra health is also really useful as it will still take a bit more to burst through your health should your shields go down.

Weights & Traits

Weights – 5 light armor is still obligated for Magsorc, as Dampen Magic (which requires 5 pieces of light armor to use) serves really well in combination with Hardneed Ward and Healing Ward, creating a powerful shield stack.

Well Fitted – Shields alone are not enough to survive. The additional mechanic that is necessary for a Magsorc this patch is roll dodging. Next to that the increased Stamina sustain will also allow for a better usage of Dark Conversion, thus creating a build with high overall sustain.

Consumables

Buff Food

The food we use is Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl, this will give you a high bonus to the Max Health and Max Magicka stats. The Max Stamina should be around 17k (in CP) already, which is very comfortable for the stamsustain. That being said, Bewitched Sugar Skulls is a very valid choice as well, especially for no-cp, despite the fact that it could be considered an overkill on Max Stamina.

Potions

The potions we use the most are spell power potions, though it’s better to switch to tri-stat potions when you’re taking a lot of damage, as you won’t be focused on dealing damage then but rather on surviving and getting out of the fight (made with Bugloss, Columbine and Mountain Flower) .

Poisons

We use Escapist’s Poison on the back bar (Restoration Staff Bar) on this build (Made with columbine, wormwood and namira’s rot).

Champion Points

Additional Notes

The Arcane Supremacy slottable star in the Warfare tree can be replaced with Cleansing Revival or Fighting Finesse.
