Whoa! This build is from a previous patch, so it may not function correctly or some aspects may no longer exist. See the latest builds here!

Build Contents

Welcome to the my Magden PvP Build for the Markarth patch.
This build embraces the Markarth PvP meta and utilizes the powerful Malacath mythic item and the effective health-based healing which only the Warden class benefits from to create a super tanky setup with a surprisingly strong pressure and burst potential.

If you’re looking to stay up on your feet and tank-out a lot of damage, and still be able to kill most enemy players you run into, you’ve come to the right place!

Setup

There are a few things to keep in mind when viewing and playing this build:

  • A lot of the damage power of this build comes from the two proc sets that it utilizes in combination with the Malacath mythic item which increases the damage of your procs as well as your skills. So make sure you are constantly activating those sets if you want the build to peak in terms of damage dealing.
  • The healing power of this build scales off of it’s max Health rather than it’s max Magicka unlike most magicka based builds. This is important to keep in mind since while this build utilizes less common methods of health gain such as attribute points and mundus buff, those are very important for the overall performance of the build.

Race

The optimal race for this build is Breton. This race helps you sustain magicka skills better than any, and increases your spell resistance and your magicka pool as well.

Other good alternatives for races would be Dark Elf, Nord, Argonian and High Elf.

Mundus

The mundus stone we are using on this build is The Lord, since most of our healing power in this build scales off of our Max Health, and this mundus helps us increase it’s value.

Skills

Note: For the full explanation on why we use all these skills and how to utilize them effectively, make sure to check out the build video.

Passives

Gear

Mythic Item

Malacath – We are utilizing Malacath in this build as it allows us to use heavy armor and set up our build quite defensively for the sake of tankiness, and still lets us deal a whole lot of damage using proc sets (mentioned below). This is one of the most powerful sets of the patch and is very much recommended to use.

Main Sets

Ice Furnace – This set allows us to constantly proc a considerably high amount of damage -which is buffed by malacath- every single second, as long as we deal frost damage to any enemy around us. We deal that damage using either Arctic Blast, Perfmafrost, or our spammable Force Pulse. It allows us to keep a lot of pressure on our enemies passively without much effort.

Icy Conjurer – This set allows us to focus enemy targets down and deal a massive amount of damage to them, one at a time. Most of our build consists of AoE pressure that is meant to lower the health of all nearby enemies, however this set allows us to focus one of them down at a time and make sure their health goes all the way down to zero. The damage of this set is also buffed by Malacath, and we proc it by using our spammable Force Pulse, as with our charged staff, Force Pulse is almost guaranteed to proc the set on-cooldown every single time we cast the skill.

Weapon Set

Master’s Ice Staff – We are using this set on the back bar to help increase our burst potential. While unbuffed, our offensive stats are quite low. And despite the fact Malacath and our proc sets still deal a very high amount of damage, sometimes we need to have a powerful burst or a few hitting our enemies to finish the kill. To power up our burst, we simply go to the back bar and cast Frost Clench using our Master’s staff, which increases our spell damage to almost 4,000 when we are fully buffed and helps our shalk, arctic blast, northern storm and force pulse spammable deal a whole lot more damage.

Weights & Traits

Heavy Armor – We are using heavy armor on this build since it allows us to be tankier and increase our max health, allowing our Arctic Blast to heal us for more, and our damage is still very high thanks to Malacath enabling heavy armor, as we don’t mind the loss of critical chance at all.

Sturdy – A lot of our traits are sturdy in this build, since our ice staff allows us to block very efficiently on the back bar, and sadly after the nerfs the impen trait is not worth as much to use.

Consumables

Food

We use Bewitched Sugar Skulls since this one food gives us all: Max Health, Max Magicka, Max Stamina and Health Recovery.

Potions

We use tri-stat potions (made with Bugloss, Columbine and Mountain Flower) to help us heal and sustain both our Magicka pool and our Stamina pool.
